Item came earlier than anticipated. Bought it for my husband who’s a professional chef as his birthday gift. So far after examining the knives, they all seem to be in tip top quality. Blades are extremely sharp. Can’t wait to see the look on my husband face when I give him this…. Love it

I just received my knives and Holy Smokes they are amazing. The perfect weight, the handle is great and the blades…. come on now this is a beautiful early Christmas gift to my self.

Worth the price tag. Shipping times to Australia were the expected, not great not terrible.

First of all, these knives are gorgeous! I expected amazing quality and I’m not disappointed. The attention to detail is really awesome and these are super sharp! After doing some research I finally invested. I must say they are by far the best knives I’ve owned.

I received this knife at a promotional price and my husband was skeptical. Now this is one of his favorite things in our kitchen. We had decent run of the mill knifes that he never complained about and kept sharpened, and this knife blows them out of the water. It cuts through a raw potato like it’s a baked potato. It sliced through chicken just with the pulling motion on the knife – no sawing or pressure required. Our tomatoes are actually cubes when we cut them instead of getting all mushed up with seeds everywhere like they did with our old knives. My husband actually won’t cut watermelon with it anymore because it’s so sharp that it cuts through too fast, and he wound up cutting himself a few times. I’d definitely recommend this to someone who wants to add a really nice knife to their kitchen.

– Avoid cutting bones (except fish bones) and hitting the blade on hard surfaces. Preferably use a plastic or wooden cutting board.

– Dry the knife as soon as you wash it. Do not place the knife in a dishwasher.

– In order to sharpen the blade the use of a sharpening stone is suggested. Any other tools could damage the blade.

– To retain the edge of the knife make sure to hone the knife regularly. During normal use your knife edge may roll over at some point. Honing will not remove steel but will refine the edge of the knife.

VG-10 is a cutlery grade stainless steel produced in Japan. The name stands for V Gold 10 ("gold" meaning quality), or sometimes V-Kin-10 (V金10号) (kin means "gold" in Japanese). The indication 'Cobalt steel' is sometimes used too, but that could of course also designate another steel type with Cobalt. Hitachi is the manufacturer of VG10 steel, but often the name of the Takefu factory is used, that markets the steel in laminated format.

Stainless VG10 Steel holds its edge more than any other steel used to manufacture kitchen knives. The major advantage is ability to withstand rust. VG10 also provides the ability to have the Damascus pattern created in the blade during temperament. For the above reasons VG10 is the most popular steel in the knife manufacturing industry.

The Benefits

- High Hardness on the blade
- Very light and thin blade for precision cutting
- Anti-rust composition
- Long lasting
- Damascus pattern aesthetics

Composition

1% carbon
1% molybednum
15% chromium
0.2% vanadium
1.5% cobalt

The Sharpening

Precision sharpening is ensured with laser technology.
The blades are then hand-sharpened using whetstones.
Finally every knife is carefully inspected before it is shipped to our customers.

Pakka wood, also sold as compreg, is an engineered wood/plastic composite material commonly used in knife handles and other objects that see rough wear. It resembles conventional wood, while maintaining its antibacterial characteristic which is vital for professional knives.

The cylindrical shape of the handle allows versatile cutting strokes.
